As an open source project hosted and supported by The Linux Foundation, the Tizen project community (“Tizen”) is subject to The Linux Foundation’s Privacy Policy (the “Privacy Policy”).
In addition to access to the Tizen open source software offerings, Tizen additionally provides and manages access to Tizen developer accounts (“Tizen Accounts”), which can be used to participate in developer forums and other offerings made available by Tizen, including those accessible via the Tizen website and its related websites (collectively, the “Sites”).
This Tizen Privacy Policy Addendum (the “Addendum”) is provided in addition to the Privacy Policy, and describes additional details regarding Tizen’s collection and use of personal information (as defined in the Privacy Policy). Applicable terms used and not defined herein have the meanings set forth in the Privacy Policy.
Personal Information Collection, Use and Sharing
In addition to The Linux Foundation’s collection, use and sharing of personal information as set forth in the Privacy Policy, Tizen may collect, use and share certain of your personal information as set forth below.
Tizen Accounts
When you register for a Tizen Account, complete an information request form, or otherwise create a Tizen Account, Tizen collects personal information from you. This personal information may include your first and last name, chosen username, email address, employer or affiliated organization, job title, password, and preferred language and locale settings for communications.
Tizen uses this personal information for purposes of creating and managing your Tizen Account, including to fulfill requests you may make for further information; to provide you with access to Tizen developer resources and other portions of the Sites; to facilitate customization for your preferences for Tizen’s communication with you; and to contact you regarding Tizen developments, events and other activities.
Tizen does not share your Tizen Account information with third parties, except (1) where you choose to make it public, such as via Public Postings (as described below); (2) where you otherwise grant us permission to make it public; (3) to Tizen’s third party service providers as set forth herein; (4) where we are required to share it pursuant to applicable law; or (5) as otherwise set forth herein and in the Privacy Policy.
Tizen Developer Forums
As a public open source project community, Tizen conducts its development activities openly and transparently. Participants in the Tizen community may in their discretion elect to participate in public Tizen offerings, such as mailing lists, blog posts, comments, and forum discussions (collectively, “Public Postings”). Any personal information that you may elect share via a Public Posting shall immediately become public. You should exercise discretion and caution in deciding whether to include any of your personal information in your Public Postings. Tizen may in its discretion, but (except where required under applicable law) is not obligated to, modify or remove any Public Postings in order to maintain the integrity, security and safety of the Site, the other public Tizen offerings and the Tizen community.
Third Party Service Providers
Tizen utilizes third party service providers in the course of operating the Site, the Tizen project and Tizen’s other offerings. The following information describes Tizen’s service providers who may process your personal information on Tizen’s behalf.

- Jurisdiction of transfer: United States
- Period of transfer, possession and use: From time to time, through operation of hosting servers
- Purpose of use: Management and operation of the Site and Tizen’s offerings
- Google, Inc. (and its affiliates):
- Contact information: https://developers.google.com/analytics
- Information collected: Cookies, device browser-related data, IP address, site/app activity collection via Google Analytics; Tizen does not share personal information with Google Analytics
- Jurisdiction of transfer: United States
- Period of transfer, possession and use: From time to time, when you visit or interact with the Site; certain information may be stored for up to 38 months following collection
- Purpose of use: For statistical measurement of user interactions occurring on the Site; for understanding aggregate details regarding the statistical makeup of visitors to the Site; and for maintaining the security and integrity of the Site.
Cookies and Data Security
Information regarding the Site’s use of cookies, and general data security measures Tizen uses to protect your personal information collected via the Site, may be found in the Privacy Policy and in The Linux Foundation’s Cookie Policy.
Children’s Online Privacy
In addition to the “Children’s Privacy” section of the Privacy Policy, Tizen does not knowingly collect personal information of children under the age of 14 without consent of the child’s parent or guardian.
If a child under the age of 14 desires to register for a Tizen Account, the child’s parent or guardian must (1) provide consent to the provision of such personal information to Tizen; and (2) inform Tizen when the child has ceased use of the Tizen Account so that Tizen can promptly delete the Tizen Account and the personal information. If Tizen becomes aware that personal information about a child under the age of 14 has been collected or provided without such consent, Tizen will promptly delete such personal information.
Disabling Inactive Tizen Accounts
Tizen may determine that certain Tizen Accounts are inactive (“Inactive Tizen Accounts”), such as for Tizen Accounts where the user has not logged in or used the account for a period of longer than one year.
Tizen may in its discretion (including as required under applicable law) elect to disable any Inactive Tizen Accounts, and may delete, render inaccessible or otherwise anonymous any corresponding personal information. Tizen may in its discretion attempt to notify holders of Inactive Tizen Accounts prior to such disabling and deletion, but you acknowledge that such notifications may not be deliverable (such as for Inactive Tizen Accounts associated with email addresses that are themselves no longer active).
Updates to this Addendum
This Addendum is current as of the effective date set forth above. If we change our privacy policies and procedures as documented in this Addendum, we will post those changes on this page or a similar page.
